I was troubled by the BP oil spill, so I created this comic book, which explores the history of our dependence on oil. It features a historical vignette about Jacques Cousteau’s personal transformation from a spear fisherman to an environmentalist. This is an optimistic take on the possibility of dramatic transformations, one that I hope our society will make with regards to oil-dependence.
